Director/Assistant Director

On-set

Connecting crews to ensure smooth productions

Working as an assistant director is always fun for me because I get to work with so many different people. I have the most experience as a 2nd AD. As the AD, I get to interact with the other assistant directors, the producers, the director, and everyone else on the crew. I love talking to people about their creative goals and processes while being on set with them, and collaborating with others to ensure set runs smoothly. As a director, I enjoy collaborating with my HoDs as well as my actors to create something that may not have fit the "vision," but that comes out better than anyone could have imagined.

Looking Forward

A fast-paced mind set to keep people in motion

I hope to work as a first assistant director again in the future to sharpen my scheduling and communication skills. I can be firm without being rude and I can allow time when it's possible. I understand the fine line you must walk to be stern, but kind. I want to direct another short film before I graduate now that I have experience to build off of and deeper knowledge of directing methods.
